PUBLIC MEETING held in Dunbar Primary School
On Monday 7 December 2009 at 7p.m.
To discuss proposed closure of Ward 2 at Belhaven Hospital
Stephen Bunyan, Chair of Dunbar Community Council, opened the meeting by welcoming everyone present. He tendered an apology from Gerry Power, General Manager of East Lothian & Midlothian Community Health Partnerships and introduced Dr Ian Johnston, Clinical Director, Elizabeth McLean, Chief Nurse, Community Health Partnership, Ian Gray MSP, Andrew Sharp, Scottish National Candidate, local Councillors and Doctors.

Woodland Upgrade - Public Meeting |

A Public Meeting has been arranged by Dunbar Community Woodland Group (D.C.W.G.)to discuss the forthcoming tree felling and ground clearances which are scheduled to start shortly within Lochend Woods. It will be held in Hallhill Healthy Living Centre on Tuesday 8th. January starting at 7.30 p.m. All members and other interested parties are welcome to attend. |

IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD |

Unicef in conjunction with the Bass Rock Framing and Picture Gallery are running a competition for senior art students at Dunbar grammar school as part of an upcoming fundraising project titled "It takes a village to raise a child".... (click read more)
The painting itself will be undertaken by high school students and local Dunbar artists over the following year.

An Enjoyable Christmas Concert in prospect |
After the very successful Charity Concerts in October, Dunbar and District Choral Society are hard at work preparing for their popular Christmas Concert of Carols and Readings which will take place at Belhaven Parish Church on Wednesday 9th December at 7.30pm. Conductor Vaughan Townhill has prepared a varied programme of traditional Christmas music from around Europe, as well as British works. The Concert will start with the Christmas Section of Handel’s Messiah with soloist Katrine Townhill. This will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of Handel’s death. (Click read more)
