Latest News from Dunbar Coastal Rowing Club |
 Work on the skiff boat build is progressing very well. Planking on has just been completed and volunteers are busy preparing for painting.
Dunbar Coastal Rowing Club is a non-profit, community based organisation open to all*, both to help build boats and to take part in rowing. The Club is affiliated to the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association which has been set up to promote the building and racing of St Ayles Skiffs around Scotland.

Antiquarian visit Blairadam |

East Lothian Antiquarian society made an expedition by coach to Blairadam on Saturday 10th July
Blairadam near Kelty is the family home of the Adam family.It was built in 1736 by William Adam father of John,James and Robert and was their country home.It was a great privilege to be welcomed into this family home,which had been in visited in his day by Walter Scott and other distinguished members of his Edinburgh circle.
Keith and Elizabeth Adam spoke about the history of the house and the family and showed a rich variety of items of interest.
The next outing is to Pilmuir House in East Lothian on the 24th July. |

Dunbar Lyric Group is intending to stage Woody Allen's comedy "Play It Again, Sam" in September or October. The play is to be directed by Harris Jones, a first-time director,working along with the more senior members of the group. Auditions will be held on
at Isa Villa in Queen's Road. These auditions are open to anyone but would-be auditioners are asked to contact Harris either on facebook or by e-mailing

Bookings are being taken now for the Fit Kidz training sessions held at Belhaven Hill School this summer. Week 1 is 12th to 16th July , and week 2 19th to 23rd July, sessions are a full 7 hours from 9am to 4pm. Activities include hockey, golf, football, rugby, tennis etc, with additional swimming lessons available during week 1. Cost is £25 for the full day, plus £45 for 5 swimming lessons. 3. Financial Report: D. Edmunds distributed copies of the accounts for 2009/2010. These were approved by the members and signed by the Treasurer who will arrange for their certification.
The grant has been received from E.L. Council in the sum of £911.00. The balance presently stands at £906.11.
D. Edmunds also reported that the application for “Any Questions” was now with the BBC.

Lyric Group unveils plan for new session |
The success of last May's silver jubilee production of Calamity Jane and the surge in members has encouraged the new Lyric Group committee to plan a double programme this year- a small cast play in the autumn and a musical in the spring. There will be a meeting in the parish church hall at 7.30 pm on Monday 5th July for anyone who is interested in taking part in, or helping with, "Play It Again Sam" by Woody Allen.
