Probus Club Ladies Day meeting |
|
Dunbar Probus Club Held its Ladies Day meeting on Tuesday 3rd March when Herbert Coutts, Former Director of Culture and Leisure in the City of Edinburgh gave a illustrated lecture entitled Treasures from Afar when he outlined the splendid blockbuster exhibitions which he brought to Edinburgh .the First was the Chinese warriors and he gave a fascinating account of the difficulties encountered in mounting and the need to develop publicity for exhibitions on that scale.
Herbert was modest about the transformation in the cultural life of the city, and indeed of Scotland, which was largely brought about by him.
The next meeting is on April 13th when Tom Brock will talk about The Scottish Seabird Centre. |
